- Delivered Monday through Friday between 11:30 and 1:00 p.m.

- Cancellations are to be phoned in by 9:00 a.m. the day prior to delivery
- No Delivery on Statutory Holidays
MEAL PROGRAMS
Meals on Wheels services are available to individuals who are at nutritional risk because they are unable or no longer willing to prepare meals due to an illness, recent surgery, age, living with a disability or needing support as a caregiver.
FOOD PREPARATION
Each meal consists of soup; 1 serving of meat, fish, poultry or alternate; 1 serving of potatoes, rice, or pasta; 2 servings of vegetables; and a dessert. Special diets (eg. diabetic, minced, low fat) are also provided.
Both Hot and Frozen Meals are provided by Niagara Ina Grafton Gage Village.
DELIVERY
Hot Meals are delivered during the noon hour by our friendly, caring volunteers. The actual time of each delivery varies with the position on the route, so we ask you to be ready between 11:30am and 1:00pm. We suggest that you have your table set so that you can enjoy the hot meal immediately. Remember to wrap and refrigerate portions which you may wish to eat later.
Frozen Meal Delivery on Thursday is generally between 10am and noon.
COST
Your cost per hot meal is currently $9.00
This includes the soup, entrée and dessert.
Frozen entrées are $7.50
Frozen dessert is $2.75
Frozen soup is $3.25
PAYMENT
We are on a monthly billing system. You will be billed at the start of each month for any meals ordered in the previous month. Payment can be made by cheque or cash that can either be given to the driver or mailed to the office. You may also pay by e-transfer or by credit card using the link on our website.
If paying by cash, please be sure to include the top portion of the bill with your payment and have the delivery volunteer initial and date the bottom portion and keep it as your receipt.
Arrangements can be made to have bills sent directly to family members or others who may be responsible for the bill payment.
CANCELLATIONS
If you wish to cancel a meal, please try to call the office as soon as possible. We do require 24 hours notice for meal cancellations. You must call by 9:00 am the day prior to delivery. Without sufficient notice, we may be able to stop delivery, but you will be billed for the meal.
You may leave a message on the answering machine if you call when the office is unoccupied or we are on the line with another client.
If the delivery itself is cancelled due to inclement weather or other factors out of our control, the announcement will be made on 610 CKTB and CHCH TV. Every effort will be made to contact you personally in this event.
We suggest the following emergency food supplies to keep on hand in case of cancellation in severe weather:
- Frozen dinners
- Canned citrus or tomato juice
- Powdered or evaporated milk
- Canned or dried soups/stews
- Instant coffee, tea, hot chocolate
- Canned vegetables
- Canned or dried fruit
- Peanut butter, jams/jellies
- Crackers
- Instant cereals
